Artisan Barrels is the exclusive US Representative for Tonnellerie Rousseau and concrete wine manufacturer Nomblot of Burgundy, A&K of Missouri, Lejeune, and Artisan Barrels Selection of France and Hungary.
We specialize in providing eastern and western United States wineries with premium oak barrels, tanks, casks, puncheons, small barrels and wine concrete tanks hand-crafted in France, Hungary and the US by Artisan coopers. We thrive to offer personalized service to winemakers through one to one barrel tasting, evaluation and consultation. All of our barrels are guaranteed for one year and our local coopers perform repairs and maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
"Prior to running Artisan Barrels, I set up and managed the American subsidiary of a major French cooperage from the Cognac Region of France; There, I learned the barrel trade from coopers and winemakers. My formal training includes a Bachelor of Arts in International Trade from the "Ecole Supérieure de Gestion" in Paris, France and a Master of Strategic Management for Medium-sized Firms from the University of Reims.
To further my education in winemaking and viticulture, I attended several classes at the Santa Rosa Junior College and took part on several crushes in Napa and Sonoma.Since 2001, I have been producing Verve wines: Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer Verve, from the cool climate vineyards of the Pacific Northwest (Russian River, Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountain, Paso Robles, Columbia Valley and Oregon). I also produce some Verve French Colombard bottles from the warm climate of Cotes de Gascogne, France. I recently started my own label of Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc Verve, from the cool climate vineyards of the Pacific Northwest (Russian River, Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountain, Paso Robles, Columbia Valley and Oregon). - Jozef Gritters, a Marketing Consultant is responsible for web site design, brochures, logos, and labels. He holds a Master of Science in Management and has eight years of experience in consumer services marketing and advertising in Slovakia.
- Marie Bourdillas, a Wine Marketing MBA from France has been appointed Office Manager and looks after wine and barrels sales.
- Gerhard Ziemer, a Ph.D in English and Critical Theory has been recently appointed as the first Regional Sales Manager to develop the overall North American wine and barrels market . He gained experience in barrels and wine as a Regional Sales Manager for Premier Wine Cask for five years and as a retail wine buyer and restaurant wine consultant the previous five years.
He will mainly focus on the following territories: California’s Bay Area, Central Coast and Sierra Foothills, Washington State and British Columbia, and the US and Canadian East Coast.
