[ ARTISAN BARRELS SELECTION ] - BELLOT Accessories and Fittings

Created in 1956 by Roger Bellot initially at Sauveterre-de-Guyenne (Gironde, France) and later relocated to Talence (suburbs of Bordeaux,–France), the BELLOT company has been designing and manufacturing vinification products for 50 years.

In 1956, BELLOT developed aseptic bung 56, specifically adapted for winemaking vats that are being emptied. In addition, BELLOT developed a wide range of sealing covers for wine vats. These revolutionary sealing covers were made of PVC and stainless steel, a concept never matched yet. They have had, from the beginning, an aseptic valve in their center. These light, rigid, practical, and easily cleaned sealing covers are fully adapted for wine maturation in vats. From their first appearance, these sealing covers have received high praise from the winemaking community, both winery owners and oenologists. Today, these wine vat sealing covers incorporate all advantages required from this type of material.

In 1987, after the death of Jean Bellot, Hubert Karrasch took over BELLOT. The company continued to develop an impressive line of vinification products, and entered partnership agreements with companies such as KIESEL, a German company that makes helicoidal rotor pumps. In 2002, after the death of Hubert Karrasch, his sons Laurent and Bertrand Karrasch took the lead of the company.
In 2005, BELLOT took over the operations of GARNIER GEFFROY, manufacturer of GEFFROY glass aseptic bungs. This buyout brought a complete line of products for wooden vats, and a large variety of taps, valves, and fittings to the company. BELLOT integrates the GARNIER GEFFROY brand into its own products and assigns it to GEFFROY aseptic bungs and to cooperage products. With the buyout of GARNIER GEFFROY, BELLOT also integrates the valves and fittings made by CAE for the winemaking industry.
